"The local government must ensure that the P3KE data has been received by village officials in each region," Effendy noted in his statement received here Thursday.
The minister then explained that the P3KE data is a collection of information and data on families and individual family members as a result of updating the Indonesian family database that is collected by the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).
The data is stored in an electronic file and has been validated with a welfare status or decile, he added.
"If there are village officials who have not received the P3KE data, then the regional government must follow up to ensure that each village and sub-district head can immediately verify and validate it to be signed by the regional head as a basis for handling extreme poverty," Effendy remarked.
The minister also called on all regional heads to optimize all available resources to accelerate the handling of extreme poverty in their respective regions.
"Regional governments play an important role in accelerating the reduction of extreme poverty through directed, integrated, and sustainable efforts carried out in the form of policies, programs and empowerment, assistance, and facilitation activities and meet the basic needs of every citizen," he emphasized.
This aligns with Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty mandates to relevant ministries and agencies as well as local governments to take measurable steps to accelerate the target of eradicating extreme poverty.
The government is targeting to eliminate extreme poverty, from four percent, or 10.86 million people in 2021, to zero percent in 2024. Effendy also stated that the handling of extreme poverty is included in the priority programs in 2023.
"Handling extreme poverty is one of the government's priority programs. This is in accordance with President Joko Widodo's instructions," he remarked.
