"The personnel will be distributed at several security posts, service posts, and integrated posts we have readied, starting from the Pantura (Java's northern coast) toll route and the southern route," Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said here on Tuesday.
According to him, the National Police (Polri) will also implement a "one-way" traffic plan if there is heavy traffic on toll roads.
"Thus, regarding when 'one way' is started, it is managed by the Polri Headquarters. Central Java Regional Police only prepares local ‘one way,’" he said.
According to him, if heavy traffic continues even after the one-way traffic plan is implemented from Palimanan (West Java) to Kalikangkung (Semarang, Central Java), the Central Java Regional Police will extend the plan’s implementation to Bawen (Salatiga, Central Java).
Luthfi is also planning to carry out a recheck with several parties and stakeholders to discuss the preparations for the exodus flow.
"In principle, Central Java police officers are ready to carry out security for the 2023 Eid," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding security at several locations that are prone to crime, he informed that the Central Java Regional Police would be supported by the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Police Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) in maintaining security at those locations.
He predicted that the peak of heavy traffic of the Eid exodus flow would occur on April 19, 2023, and the peak of the reverse flow will occur one week after Eid al-Fitr.
"We predict 1.72 million vehicles will enter Central Java. If there are four people in each car, then more than four million exodus travelers will enter this area," he said.
