This Baznas' exodus post team is aiming to help travelers who are considered Ibnu Sabil or belong to the mustahik group...
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the National Alms Agency (Baznas) Noor Achmad has stressed that the Eid al-Fitr exodus alert post team will assist all travelers regardless of whether they are rich or poor.

"This Baznas' exodus post team is aiming to help travelers who are considered Ibnu Sabil or belong to the mustahik group, who are eligible to receive alms," he said while launching the Baznas exodus alert team here on Monday.

However, the alert team will not discriminate against the rich or poor in providing help, he added.

A mustahik group is a group of people who are eligible for receiving alms. Ibnu Sabil refers to travelers who do not have enough money to return to their hometowns, hence, they need help, he explained.

The Baznas exodus alert team will also treat sick travelers, give directions to lost travelers, and provide rest areas for exhausted travelers, Achmad added.

The Baznas exodus posts are spread across 20 points along Java Island.

According to him, the posts will also serve travelers who want to pay alms, for instance, at two points in Serang district, namely Kramat Watu Square for the exodus flow and Baitul Muslimin Mosque for the return flow.

"Do not hesitate and be afraid to pay alms at Baznas," he urged.

He assured that paying alms through Baznas is in accordance with the Sharia law, the applicable regulations, and the country's law and principles.

Baznas is collaborating with money transfer service provider PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara and PT Bank Aladin Syariah for operating the exodus posts.

Head of corporate communication and affairs at PT Jalin Pembayaran Nusantara, Adam Rumanda, said that the services available at the exodus posts will include alms payment and provision of clean water and basic health services. Travelers will also be able to charge their cell phones at the posts.

Earlier, President Joko Widodo urged all Muslims, particularly state officials, state-owned enterprises officials, and all regional leaders, to fulfill their obligations of paying alms through Baznas.
