Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Informatics has invited European investors to the 2023 HUB.ID Summit, which will be held on September 15 and 16, 2023, in Bali.

The summit aims to encourage growth and increase the business scale of Indonesian start-up companies.

"We hope that potential investors will directly come to Bali and visit our start-ups as well," Director General of Information and Public Communication at the ministry Usman Kansong said at the Indonesian Pavillion at the 2023 Hannover Messe in Germany, according to an official statement received here on Wednesday.

It is hoped that potential investors attending the 2023 HUB.ID Summit will be interested in working together and investing in Indonesian start-ups, he added.

"Thus, we will be able to create higher opportunities for domestic start-up companies to have global-scale investors," he added.

The HUB.ID Summit has been initiated by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics through the Directorate General of Informatics Applications.

The event will be held to connect digital start-ups, local and global venture capital companies, the industry, ministries and institutions, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and business partners, he informed.

The 2023 Hannover Messe is the largest industrial exhibition in Europe, which is showcasing various technologies and innovations in the industrial sector at the global level.

At the 2023 Hannover Messe, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has also held a European Venture Capital (VC) Engagement to introduce the Indonesian digital start-up ecosystem and the HUB.ID Summit to venture capitalists, Kansong said.

Four Indonesian start-ups are being promoted through European VC Engagement, namely Imajin, Prieds, Amoda, and Kecilin, he added.

Meanwhile, the chief financial officer of Kecilin, Bisma Mandasamsu, said that the Indonesian government and SOEs have consistently supported the development of start-ups in Indonesia through various programs.

"The government and SOEs already have incubator and accelerator programs. We have joined the incubator program since our company was started," he disclosed.

He also lauded the government's policy of encouraging the use of domestic products that could bring added value to the products of Indonesian start-ups.
