Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Transportation has launched an e-book that provides information on hundreds of favorite food and tourist destinations along the North Coast (Pantura) route and outside the Pantura route.

The Let's Visit! - Culinary and Tourism Map for Java Island Eid Exodus Routes e-book can be downloaded through bit.ly/YukMampir2023.

"The launch of this book is expected to offer additional information to people who will join the Eid exodus to their hometowns in Java Island," public relations head at the ministry's Land Transportation Directorate General, Pitra Setiawan, said in a statement released on Wednesday.

The Eid exodus is an annual activity in which people return to their hometowns during almost the same period, he added.

On Java Island, during the exodus, travelers in the greater Jakarta area will travel in massive numbers to other parts of Java, both the central and eastern parts.

Setiawan further said that regions traversed along the exodus and return routes, both on the Trans Java Toll Road and on national roads, certainly offer culinary tourism with its unique and distinctive flavors.

Apart from food destinations, tourist destinations are also visited by many people. Therefore, the ministry has provided information about such destinations in the e-book.

"This book does not only contain hundreds of culinary destinations, but we also provide information regarding the leading tourist destinations in those regions," he added.

He informed that the destinations in the e-book, which has 247 pages, are divided into two groups: destinations in Pantura regions and destinations in non-Pantura regions.

Pantura regions are Cilegon, Serang, Karawang, Cirebon, Brebes, Tegal, Pemalang, Pekalongan, Batang, Semarang, Salatiga, Solo, Ngawi, Kertosono, Mojokerto, Surabaya, Pasuruan, Malang, Probolinggo, Situbondo, and Banyuwangi.

Meanwhile, non-Pantura regions are Bandung, Tasikmalaya, Banyumas, Purwokerto, Banjarnegara, Magelang, and Yogyakarta.

"In the explanation of the destinations, we give a brief description of the regions, the advantages of culinary and tourist destinations, plus the address and the operational days and hours (information)," he disclosed.

He said that, in the e-book, the ministry has also provided information related to appeal and explanation regarding safe driving.
