This is the ultimate vision of President Jokowi, which is an Indonesian-centric development
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) stated that the government is striving to increase the electrification ratio in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas to realize Indonesia-centric development as envisioned by President Joko Widodo.

"(Electrification) showed that the state is present for the residents to realize equitable energy, and this is realized only 77 years after Indonesia is independent," KSP's Deputy I, Febry Calvin Tetelepta, noted as per the press statement here on Monday.

He opined that increasing the electrification ratio in 3T regions would be essential to overcome development gaps and advance development in the regions.

The government must intensify efforts in 3T areas to achieve a 100-percent electrification ratio since according to the state electricity company PT PLN data, at least two thousand villages in Indonesia had yet to be electrified in 2020, Tetelepta emphasized.

"It is the KSP's duty to monitor this national strategic program continually, and the KSP will continue to encourage efforts to electrify villages in 3T regions," the KSP deputy stated.

Meanwhile, Tetelepta drew attention to KSP's observation while saying that PT PLN has implemented various measures to electrify villages in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost areas, right from system planning to budgeting and construction.

He noted that recently, the state company had realized the electrification of 15 villages in Tual City and Aru Islands District, Maluku Province, covering some 2,192 families.

"We see everything has been mapped and is gradually being realized by PT PLN according to the devised roadmap," the deputy stated.

Tetelepta also expressed hope that more training and skill development programs would be devised for communities recently connected to the electricity grid to ensure they could make the most of resources to improve their quality of life.

"This is the ultimate vision of President Jokowi, which is an Indonesian-centric development," he remarked.
