The agency conducted the screening of employees at the venue and activity locations, including tourism destination accommodations that the state heads will visit, he noted through a statement issued on Wednesday.
This was undertaken to ensure that the personnel working there are truly accountable and fall in the safe category, he remarked.
The BNPT plays a strategic role in supporting security for the 2023 ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, until Thursday.
Dahniel stated that the implemented security standard refers to BNPT Regulation No. 3 of 2020 on Strategic Vital Object Infrastructure and Public Facilities Protection in Prevention of Terrorism Guideline.
He also underlined the support by BNPT, as a government institution, to make the ASEAN Summit event a success by providing a safe and conducive situation free from potential terror acts.
As a state agency, the BNPT is chiefly tasked with ensuring that the entire facilities and infrastructure at all venues, including the event location in Labuan Bajo, had met the safety standards, he stated.
Specifically, the agency ensured that all facilities and infrastructure are safe from terrorist attacks, he remarked.
To create an orderly situation, the agency conducted an inspection of several locations where various activities from delegations of countries participating in the ASEAN Summit are held.
These include the Meruorah Hotel, Ayana Hotel, Sudamala Hotel, Bintang Flores Hotel, the Puncak Waringin activity location, as well as Golomori that became one of Labuan Bajo's tourism destinations.
