Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA) - South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman and Singaporean Minister of Social and Family Development, Second Minister of Health, and Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs Masagos Zulkifli met to discuss strategic steps to bolster relations.

"Minister Zulkifli drew attention to potential cooperation in the sectors of logistics export-import, seafood, tourism, and others," Governor Sulaiman noted in his statement in Makassar on Thursday.

The governor said South Sulawesi had abundant natural resources in various sectors, such as agriculture, tourism, and fishery.

"We briefed the minister on a number of potential sectors in South Sulawesi. We have a strong culture and local wisdom," he stated.

Minister Zulkifli, for his part, attached importance to the relations between Indonesia and Singapore and stressed the need for further development.

"I, as a Singaporean envoy, am seeking for ways to bolster the relationship between Singapore and the province," he remarked.

The minister expressed amazement at the potential of various sectors in the province and was optimistic that both parties would establish strong cooperation.

"(We would like to) promote tourism and products of Sulawesi. Hopefully, this would be an effort to further advance the relations and connectivity between the people of Singapore and Indonesia," he pointed out.

Earlier, Head of the province's Office of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service (DPMPTSP) Sulkaf S. Latief stated that Belgian investors had shown interest in the potential of the farm sector in Bone District.

According to Latief, the potential of the farm sector in the district was indeed promising. Moreover, the district government is highly committed to drawing investment to the district.

The commitment is reflected in the success of Bone District in winning the best party predicate at the South Sulawesi Investment Challenge (SSIC) that was under the collaboration of DPMPTSP and Bank Indonesia in 2022.

At the event, Bone District showcased its Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) under the theme of "Beef Cattle Farming."
