We will tidy up 27 thousand applications to create application interoperability. We found a plethora of applications that are not interconnected.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas has said that his ministry will tidy up 27 thousand applications within ministries and agencies using the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).

"We will tidy up 27 thousand applications to create application interoperability. We found a plethora of applications that are not interconnected," Anas explained at the Dhanapala Building of the Finance Ministry in Central Jakarta on Wednesday.

He said he is confident that SPBE will help the government utilize its budget much more efficiently. The minister said that efficiencies would be achieved by restricting ministries and agencies from developing new applications.

“Integrated digitalization is the key,” he underlined.

He made the statement in the capacity of a speaker during a talk show session of the "National Coordination Meeting on the Implementation of the 2023 Budget” that was organized by the Finance Ministry. In his speech, Anas pushed the bureaucracy to focus on making an impact.

"Impactful bureaucracy aims for a way to address the issue of how to make the budget to provide impacts to the society. Otherwise, we will instead be preoccupied with budget absorption without ensuring any impacts to the people," he said.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the state budget must be in accordance with the President's priorities. The bureaucrats must be able to use the budget according to urgent matters that have been stipulated by the President, she added.

"We should ensure efficiency in the budgeting process to make it easier. We should also focus on the impacts it might have. This, in turn, will lead us to allocate all our energy to focus on the results or the impacts on the daily life of the society and on our efforts to advance our economy," she explained.

At the talk show session on Wednesday, the Finance Ministry awarded 15 ministries/agencies with the best performance in terms of budgeting in 2022. The PAN-RB Ministry was among the awardees in the category of ministries/agencies with low budget ceilings.
