"Congratulations for the officiation of Jayapura City's public service mall. This is a milestone in our history, the first public service mall established in Papua, concurrently the 120th public service mall in Indonesia," Anas noted in his official statement received on Friday.
The malls, spread across the Indonesian nation, serve as a token of commitment to demonstrate that an Indonesia-centric development covers both infrastructure and good, accessible public services for people, he affirmed.
He noted that currently, of the 120 malls, 45 are located outside Java island, and 42 percent of the Digital MPPs initiated are spread outside Java.
"This shows the government's commitment to supporting equality (in terms) of the public services' quality, so they would not be concentrated solely in Java," the minister remarked.
The MPP in Jayapura is the government's facility that enables the people to access various public services in a more practical way, he pointed out. The mall is built at a strategic location, Type A Terminal Entrop, which is where most of the dynamics in Jayapura take place, he noted.
MPP allows people to simply approach one place to fulfill their administrative needs and obtain information about public services, he noted. People can utilize 99 services offered by 21 institutions, Anas revealed.
"Establishing (the mall) has become a crucial policy, as it serves as proof of the state's (efforts) in connecting with the people," the minister remarked.
As the government embarks on the path of digitization, the mall will also take shape in a digital form to continue to provide services to people as per the president's vision, he affirmed. Digital MPP adopts smart government bureaucracy to provide better public services that is expected to attract investments, he stated.
The minister also commended everyone's efforts in pursuing the development of the first Jayapura MPP. He expected that this would initiate the development of other malls of the kind in other places in Papua.
