During this 2023 RTF, the Indonesian Pavilion will promote the five Super Priority Destinations (DSPs) and Bali
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry promotes the potential of Indonesian tourism and creative economy to the Saudi Arabian market by participating in the 2023 Riyadh Travel Fair (RTF) exhibition.

This activity is an effort to increase the number of tourists from Saudi Arabia to Indonesia, Ministry's Deputy of Marketing, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, noted through an official statement, Tuesday.

"During this 2023 RTF, the Indonesian Pavilion will promote the five Super Priority Destinations (DSPs) and Bali," Marthini noted.

"The logo 'A Destination For Every Dream’ for ASEAN tourism under Indonesia's chairmanship in 2023 will adorn the Indonesian Pavilion as a commitment to market ASEAN as a single tourism destination," she remarked.

On the occasion, the ministry collaborates with the Indonesian tourism industry players as well as the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh to conduct promotion at the global level, Marthini remarked.

This collaboration is expected to create a collective action in marketing Indonesian tourism, including introducing five Super Priority Destinations -- Lake Toba, Mandalika, Likupang, Labuan Bajo, and Borobudur -- to the Saudi Arabian market.

Meanwhile, the Ministry’s Director of Regional Marketing II Cecep Rukendi affirmed that before the COVID-19 pandemic, Saudi Arabia was one of the main markets that contributed foreign tourists to Indonesia.

In 2019, the number of foreign tourists from Saudi Arabia was recorded to have reached 157,512.

“Unfortunately, because of COVID-19, this figure declined in 2020 and 2021 to 31,906 and 2,053 tourists (respectively)," Rukendi stated.

This figure began to increase in 2022, with 46,508 visitors. Due to this, the ministry is aiming for 53 thousand tourists from Saudi Arabia to visit Indonesia in 2023, he remarked.

"To this end, the ministry continues to work hard to invite international tourists through the implementation of a strategic marketing program through participation in one of the biggest tourism events in Saudi Arabia," he noted.

The 2023 RTF is being held for the 13th time on May 22-24, 2023, at The Arena, Granada Square Exit 9, Riyadh.
