The championship will take place in Bali in August 2023.
Ariotedjo said that regarding the budget, his ministry was discussing ensuring the ability to implement AWBG from the government's side and collaborating with the private sector and state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
"We hope that by next week we will already have an agreement on the budget," the minister said in Jakarta on Thursday.
Concurring with Ariotedjo, Oktohari said that discussions on the 2023 AWBG budget are still ongoing. However, there is still no clarity regarding the amount or when the budget will be disbursed.
"So far, we have not received the funds and we are continuing to work with the Ministry of Youth and Sports so that the budget can be disbursed quickly," he informed.
AWBG will be held from August 5–12 at four locations in Bali: Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Kuta, and Canggu.
The championship will feature competitions in 14 sports: 5-km open water swimming, beach water polo, beach soccer, beach handball, individual kata karate, kite foil, beach tennis, aquathlon, 4x4 beach volleyball, beach wrestling, 3x3 basketball, AirBadminton, sprint rowing, and surfing.
The 2023 AWBG Bali will be attended by at least 1,500 athletes from 130 countries who will undergo a rigorous qualifying process until July.
Bali will also host 205 delegates from international sports organizations, including the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), for the ANOC General Assembly from August 13–15.
