“Yesterday, we spoke with the Minister of Investment; they are interested in joining IKN," said Lahadalia after attending the Indonesia-Saudi Arabia business forum in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Currently, investment opportunities at IKN are available in the infrastructure sector and in projects to develop the city, he informed, as IKN is still in the first stage of development.
According to Lahadalia, there are opportunities for Saudi Arabian investors to invest in IKN. He said there are several projects specifically aimed at government and business entities and those that are fully offered to the private sector.
The Indonesia-Saudi Arabia business forum is a good opportunity to convey a shared view on trade and investment by the governments of the two countries, he added.
According to him, Saudi Arabia's investment is not significant compared to that of other countries.
"Two weeks ago, I met with their Minister of Investment (Khalif A. Al Falih) to find the right and proper formulation in order for both countries to increase investment in both countries and this event is one of them," said Lahadalia.
