Public servants... should have a vision and spirit to prevent and eradicate corruption, avoid abuse of authority, and carry out a modest lifestyle.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has said that he expects civil servants (ASN), especially those fostered through talent management programs, to develop an anti-corruption spirit and lead a modest lifestyle to realize good governance.

"Public servants who have been specifically mapped and nurtured (through talent management programs) should have a vision and spirit to prevent and eradicate corruption, avoid abuse of power, and carry out a modest lifestyle," he added.

He made the statement virtually during the 2023 National Coordination Meeting on Civil Service themed "Talent Management 2030: Smart, Agile, Empathy" on Tuesday.

The Vice President asked all parties to strengthen collaboration in developing a national talent management policy road map.

He said that the road map could be carried out by mapping the obstacles faced in implementing national and regional talent management programs, especially within the past four years.

He also asked ministries and non-ministerial agencies to develop concrete breakthroughs, especially to improve regulations that have not been in accordance with the implementation of national and regional talent management programs.

In addition, Amin asked the national talent management policy to emphasize the strategic role of ASN to unite the nation.

Their role in uniting the nation can be demonstrated by their maintaining neutrality and professionalism in carrying out bureaucratic tasks ahead of the 2024 General Elections and Regional Head Elections.

Furthermore, he said he hoped that the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) would optimally carry out talent management. He also lauded all civil servants for their services to the people and the nation.

Meanwhile, Head of the BKN Bima Haria Wibisana said that since the implementation of bureaucratic reform has continued to develop from time to time, human resources, business processes, and systems involved in the reform must be made adaptive to change.

He added that his party is ready to address the challenges to realize better bureaucratic reform in Indonesia.
