Congestion is likely from Friday afternoon until evening, but we will look at the situation. We will apply one-way if it is congested.Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - Bogor Police is implementing the odd-even traffic scheme on the Puncak tourism line, Bogor, West Java, from Wednesday afternoon till Sunday (April 4, 2023).
"Starting this afternoon, we are implementing the odd-even system until Sunday," Bogor Police Traffic Unit's Head of Operation Development Affairs First Inspector Ardian Novianto said here on Wednesday.
The odd-even traffic control scheme has been applied on the route connecting Bogor district with Cianjur district due to the long weekend, he explained.
The commemoration of Pancasila will fall on June 1, followed by Vesak Day on June 3–4, and the government has decided to set collective leave on Friday (June 2).
"In accordance with Ministerial Regulation No. 84 of 2021, the odd-even system in the Puncak tourism area has been implemented one day before the national holiday," he said.
Novianto predicted that the peak of the vehicle volume during the long holiday momentum will be recorded on June 2.
However, he said that if there is a significant increase in vehicle volume, police will apply the one-way scheme by looking at the situation.
"Congestion is likely from Friday afternoon until evening, but we will look at the situation. We will apply one-way if it is congested," he added.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno on Monday (May 29) said that the long weekend from June 1–4 is expected to support the goals of the Nusantara tourist movement.
"We hope this holiday can increase the movement of domestic tourists. Later, we will report (the total number of movements), but I predict that the target of achieving 1.4 billion tourist movements in the first half of 2023 will be achieved," he added.
In the Greater Jakarta area, apart from Puncak, some popular destinations include Lembang, Pangandaran, and Ciwidey in West Java as well as Ragunan Zoo and Ancol in the city of Jakarta.
