By participating in employment education and training, the Indonesian workforce can continue to compete in the midst of an increasingly competitive job market.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Executive Director of the Pre-Employment Card (Kartu Prakerja) Program Denni Puspa Purbasari has said that her party will regularly open registrations for new batches every two weeks, starting from June 2, 2023.

"By opening the batch and announcing the participants every two weeks, the participants who have not joined the program will not forget (or miss their opportunity) to try applying for the program again,” she explained at a press conference here on Wednesday.

She informed that the registration of each batch would begin at 12 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB) on Friday and close on the Monday of the following week at 11.59 p.m. WIB.

The attempt aims to ensure that prospective participants know when the registration for the Kartu Prakerja Program opens.

They can then register for the program, which was launched by the government in 2020 through the prakerja.go.id site.

The program aims to provide assistance to participants to hone their skills since the job market might be disrupted by pandemics, digital technology developments, or business models that make a job no longer relevant, thus everyone needs to keep learning to improve their skills.

“Only by one click (through their Kartu Prakerja dashboard account), they can participate in the registration of the upcoming batch," the executive director stated.

She said that her party has continued to strive to realize the program's vision, which states that education is not only provided in school, but continues throughout a person’s life.

"By participating in employment education and training, the Indonesian workforce can continue to compete in the midst of an increasingly competitive job market," she added.

The number of participants in the program reached 390 thousand in Batches 48 to 53 of 2023, most of them – about 100,779 people -- came from West Java province.

So far, the participants of Kartu Prakerja have come from 488 out of the 514 districts/cities throughout Indonesia.
