Currently, 17 countries have signed LoIs, expressing their interest to invest in the Nusantara Capital City
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono assured investors that construction issues in the development of Nusantara City can be addressed properly.

"So far, the land is still the main issue in the development of Nusantara Capital City. However, since we are engineers, of course, we can solve it through engineering process. Everything still can be conditioned. Moreover, we are assisted by experts from Japan and South Korea," the minister said, according to a statement received here on Thursday.

He noted that currently, the first phase of the city's construction had reached 29.45 percent completion, and they aim to complete it by 2024.

The government also plans to host the commemoration of the 2024 National Independence Day in Nusantara City, he stated.

"Currently, construction of 36 projects is ongoing, and the remaining 39 projects will kick off in July 2023. Hence, do not hesitate to start the investment and become part of the efforts to pursue Indonesian people's dreams," he remarked.

Deputy of Finance and Investment at the Nusantara City Authority, Agung Wicaksono, revealed that 233 Letters of Intent (LoIs) for investment had been received for development in the new capital city.

"Currently, 17 countries have signed LoIs, expressing their interest to invest in the Nusantara Capital City," he elaborated.

To date, most of the investors, who visit the city, are from Singapore, he added.

Meanwhile, Minister Hadimuljono and Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo, Singapore Ambassador to Indonesia Kwok Fook Seng, and Deputy for Investment Development at the Investment Ministry Yuliot had recently taken 95 Singaporeans investors to visit Nusantara City in North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan.

On that occasion, the investors observed the city's construction progress, especially in the core government area, in places, such as Point Zero of Nusantara and construction workers' residences. The investors also visited the Sepaku Semoi Dam.
