"We can confirm per this second that we once again earned the title of ASEAN Para Games' general champion," he said, after witnessing the final sitting volley match here on Thursday.
"What is most important is that our gold medal achievement is the highest through the history of our participation in ASEAN Para Games, beyond when we became the host last year in Solo," he added.
According to data from the Indonesian National Paralympic Commitee (NPC), Indonesia's medal achievement currently stands at 130 gold, 119 silver and 76 bronze medals.
After Indonesia, there is Thailand in second place and Vietnam in third place in the medal standings.
He also lauded Indonesia's hat trick, in becoming ASEAN Para Games' general champion three times in a row, from the 10th APG in Malaysia, 11th in Indonesia and 12th in Cambodia.
He also thanked the disabled athletes and Indonesian official team, who have worked hard to win the general champion title.
"For the disabled athletes, on behalf of the government, I thank you for your entire struggle and sacrifice that you have given to the country and the red and white flag," Ariotedjo said.
Today, the minister visited a number of arenas hosting ASEAN Para Games' sport branches to cheer and offer his support.
Moreover, the minister visited the athletes' dining halls for lunch and met with the para games' athletes.
