There is a huge complexity regarding local wisdom because what we are facing is the community and customs rooted in a long historyJakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) is drafting a regulation to provide legal clarity for local wisdom and culture in the capital site and is committed to ensuring the drafting process is open to the public.
"The authority head regulation drafting aims to provide legal clarity for the recognition, protection, and advancement of local wisdom to support development of the new capital Nusantara in harmony with nature and inclusivity," OIKN's Deputy for Environment and Natural Resources, Myrna A. Safitri, stated.
According to the statement received here on Friday, the OIKN deputy said the regulation draft would be available to all stakeholders, such as the government, public community, and agencies, so as to allow them to provide inputs to improve the draft.
"There is a huge complexity regarding local wisdom because what we are facing is the community and customs rooted in a long history," she noted.
"Nusantara City is committed to developing the best system and communicating openly to facilitate the people, yet remaining in harmony with nature and inclusivity," Safitri emphasized.
The new capital development, in no way, attempts to diminish what has existed in the local community, she stressed while adding that the OIKN will discuss efforts to protect the local wisdom and environment with government ministries and agencies.
"OIKN is always open for discussion and dialogue with the people because nevertheless, our policies will have an effect on the people," the deputy stated.
Meanwhile, OIKN Head Bambang Susantono explained that public consultations on the authority head regulation draft aim to realize the authority's commitment to developing the new capital according to the principle of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, or Unity in Diversity.
Based on this principle, the new capital, representing the national culture, will accommodate local cultures, he affirmed.
"The new capital is developed by holistic means, including its social and cultural development. Hence, public consultation is held to develop a transparent and participative policy process of OIKN," Susantono expounded.
