We believe that this cooperation can contribute in increasing the country's foreign exchange, specifically in export activities
Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned enterprise PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero), or Indonesia Re, aligns synergy between government institutions through memorandum of understanding (MoU) inking with Indonesian Export Financing Institution (LPEI) in business activity distribution to support national exports.

"We believe that this cooperation can contribute in increasing the country's foreign exchange, specifically in export activities," President Director of Indonesia Re Benny Waworuntu noted through an official statement on Friday.

The MoU was inked by Waworuntu, representing Indonesia Re, and Business Development Acting Director Maqin Norhadi and Finance and Operational Acting Director Agus Windiarto, representing LPEI at the LPEI Central Office here.

The inking of the MoU can intensify the cooperation that had been established since 2014 and open avenues for other forms of cooperation, including in financing, insurance, and consultation service, in future.

Meanwhile, Norhadi expects that the cooperation can support the function of the two parties in carrying out their roles and collaborating to support national exports.

The two institutions' commitment to synergize and collaborate in the provision of services and facilities that complement one another is expected to help in facilitating LPEI and Indonesia Re customers throughout Indonesia.

It is also expected to encourage the creation of export-oriented entrepreneurs that can be more competitive with sustainable business to support the strengthening of the national economy.

"We expect that in the future, this collaboration opportunity can be improved, and we are ready to explore other potential (areas for) cooperation with Indonesia Re," Norhadi affirmed.

This cooperation can also strengthen LPEI's position in improving the insurance business to encourage national exports, he affirmed.

Insurance is an important business to encourage exports, as it provides protection toward export invoices, thereby maintaining the exporters' cash flow so that their businesses can run smoothly.

Hence, Indonesia Re will make the most of this cooperation to serve as a means to improve its credibility as a state-owned enterprise (SOE) that has high integrity in the reassurance sector.
