Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police's (Polri's) Corruption Prevention Special Task Force (Satgasus) held a meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo to prevent corruption in his ministry's environment.

"The meeting with Minister Dito Ariotedjo along with his officials was held on Monday," Special Task Force's member, Yudi Purnomo, stated here, Tuesday.

"This is the premiere meeting related to the effort to prevent corruption in his ministry's environment," he remarked.

The meeting was led by the Special Task Force's Deputy, Novel Baswedan, followed by several members of the Special Task Force, including Afief Yulian Miftach, A. Damanik, and Aulia Postiera.

Purnomo said that at the meeting, the minister was quite open in his approach, had reformist ideas, and harbored the same spirit of anticorruption as the Corruption Prevention Special Task Force to prevent corruption in the ministry's environment.

At the meeting, the Special Task Force updated the minister on steps taken by the Special Task Force in the efforts to prevent corruption.

This begins with anticorruption education and governance improvement starting from detection, action, and monitoring.

"In future, there will be further talks with the ministry concerning the corruption prevention duty area that will be undertaken between the ministry and Satgasus together," Purnomo remarked.

He expects that through assistance from the Special Task Force, the ministry's environment will be an area free from corruption and serve as an example for other ministries or institutions.

He also noted that the corruption prevention undertaken by Satgasus is also conducted in other ministries, including the Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and Ministry of Trade.

He also noted that the Special Task Force's step is an effort to prevent corruption that causes budget leak or power abuse in ministries and institutions.

"This is a direct order from the police chief, who wants Polri to support the government's program, so that there are no hurdles, including from corruption," Purnomo explained.
