Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has expressed support for President Joko Widodo's directive on the implementation of the 2025–2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) for realizing an advanced Indonesia.

"In order to realize the ideals of Golden Indonesia in 2045, East Java will make various efforts, such as increasing quality human resources in terms of physical, skills, character, and discipline," Parawansa informed in a statement received here on Thursday.

After joining the launch of the 2025-2045 RPJPN in Jakarta, which was also attended by President Widodo, she said that the provincial government will strive to produce human resources who are productive and focus on mastering science and technology.

Parawansa further said she believes that the quality of human resources must be improved nationally to increase the human development index.

She said the demographic bonus poses a challenge as there is a need for quality human resources.

"As directed by President Jokowi to realize Golden Indonesia, we must maintain national stability, and sustainability, and improve the quality of human resources," she added.

She said that the nation's stability can be realized if all citizens are united in harmony and brotherhood.

"Indonesia's multiculturalism is part of the wealth and strength of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), which must be continued by promoting the importance of harmony," she added.

Regarding sustainability, she said that national leaders need to understand the vision of the nation and continue successful government programs without having to start over from zero.

"If we have the same ideals, there will be a common spirit to realize these ideals. Like what Mr. Jokowi said: leadership is like handing over a baton, not a gas station meter that must start from zero," she added.
