Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - Minister of National Development Planning and Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Suharso Monoarfa, has stated that a healthy and intelligent population is the development target for realizing the Golden Indonesian 2045 vision.

"If people are smart and healthy, then they would be able to work," he remarked during a public lecture at the Padjadjaran University in Bandung, West Java, according to a statement received on Saturday.

During the public lecture themed "2045 Golden Indonesia Blueprint," the minister said that the Golden Indonesia vision is a collective dream that should be achieved through solidarity and togetherness.

"Bappenas is not a place to dream. However, we do start our planning from the dream of what Indonesia will be like in 2045," he added.

The minister said that Indonesia should strive for commendable achievements by its centenary, and efforts should be made to attain the goals.

He emphasized that Bappenas' current responsibility is to plan, encourage, and assist all parties to ensure the continuous development of the ecosystem.

He also highlighted the importance of having a guide to handle ecosystem changes while development is ongoing.

"What is crucial in our dream is to translate it into a measurable plan so that we can clearly understand what we aspire to achieve," Monoarfa said.

The decision to designate residents' health and intelligence levels as indicators for the Golden Indonesia target was made comprehensively by experienced and young planners, he stressed.

"They formulated the plan based on solid foundations, not just random numbers. They developed an accountable framework," he remarked.
