The minister stated that Agrarian Reform is a National Strategic Program that has been the focus of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). As a national strategic program, the initiative requires several people, from ministries and institutions, regional government, state-owned enterprises, and even members of the general public, to collaborate to pursue the goal, he pointed out.
"National Strategic Program is strategic for improvement and also distribution of public welfare," Tjahjanto noted in a written statement received in Klaten, Central Java, on Tuesday.
The minister attended the 2023 Technical Meeting for directorate general of agrarian arrangement planning in Jakarta on Monday, June 19.
According to Tjahjanto, the main issue in Agrarian Reform is the sectoral structure, as every agency has its own rules, policies, and roadmaps. Hence, the One Map Policy serves as a key to ensure that reform can be conducted, he explained.

The map is expected to pave the way for a just Agrarian Reform with legal basis, so it can address issues surrounding land uses, the minister affirmed.
"Overlap in land uses is a serious issue that needs to be resolved, as it becomes the start of land disputes and conflicts. I truly pay attention to the resolution of land disputes and conflicts because that is one of the three main tasks which the president entrusts me with," he explained.
The minister also drew attention to land disputes and conflicts in Agrarian Reform Prioritized Locations (LPRA). In order to achieve resolution in those areas, the minister called for greater efforts from the director general of agrarian arrangement.
The efforts require work from the directorate general and also the people as a whole, he remarked.
Minister Tjahjanto said that issues regarding Agrarian Reform, which is cross-sectoral in nature, should be discussed comprehensively at the Agrarian Reform Task Force Summit 2023.
Creative, innovative ideas and solutions are necessary to address such agrarian problems, and to this end, would be facilitated by an integrated land administration system, he concluded.
