I consider (MSMEs) as the main economic pillar of Nusantara in the future
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) has begun conducting dissemination and preparing assistance for local entrepreneurs in Nusantara, so that the locals do not solely become spectators, as IKN draws more people.

Participants came from various regions in East Kalimantan, such as North Penajam Paser, Kutai Kartanegara, West Kutai, Samarinda, and Balikpapan.

"From the 270 invitations that were spread, we received more than 350 attendance confirmations from invited participants," OIKN's Deputy for Social, Culture, and Community Empowerment Alimuddin stated.

"This shows the people's very high (level of) enthusiasm to attend the activity," Alimuddin noted in his statement on Sunday.

The people responded positively by participating in the "SMEs (Small, Medium Enterprises) Dissemination and Assistance" at the Nusantara Ground Zero, PPU, East Kalimantan, Sunday.

Participants received guidance on various business practices to penetrate the retail and export market and the opportunity to showcase their products. Five best local products will be showcased at an expo in Jakarta.

"Today's activity, in addition to assisting existing SMEs, is also held to conduct halal certification, and we also have the goal of opening a halal center in IKN," Alimuddin remarked.

The OIKN will provide a space for local entrepreneurs to sell their products in the new capital city.

Head of OIKN Bambang Susantono stressed that the authority is determined to continue to encourage the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in IKN.

"I consider (MSMEs) as the main economic pillar of Nusantara in the future," he affirmed.

He promised training and direction that would enable MSMEs in the region to penetrate the national market and even export.

Under Governmental Regulation No. 12 of 2023, the government provides incentive, including through zero-percent final income tax for MSMEs.

"This can be one of the efforts to motivate all of you to become not just district-, city-, and provincial-class players but also national and international class players as soon as possible," Susantono remarked.

He urged participants to utilize digital technology so as to facilitate the emergence of MSMEs that will bring pride to Nusantara.

Susantono expects IKN to become an MSMEs' nursery and a home that is comfortable and must be loved.

"Make this IKN into a city that is not only livable, modern, inclusive, and resilient but also loved," he remarked.
