"We will conduct administrative evaluation on the boarding school. What are administrative measures? Seeing the management, seeing the curriculum, and seeing the contents of what is being taught so as to ensure that the rights to study for the students can still be (met)," Mahfud stated.
According to the minister, Al Zaytun needs to be assisted, though parties that violate the law, as reported and backed up by data by people, should be held accountable.
"It is said that (Al Zaytun Boarding School) is opening registration. (They may) open registration because Islamic boarding school is an educational institution that we must assist," he remarked.
He also drew attention to some criminal aspects in the entire Al Zaytun polemic that should be addressed and resolved immediately.
"In Al Zaytun (polemic), there is a criminal law aspect. Of course, it will be handled by the National Police, and it will not be abandoned. None of the issues should be abandoned," the minister stressed.

Minister Mahfud delivered the statement at a speech after the Eid al-Adha prayer at the Central Java Great Mosque, Semarang, Central Java, on Thursday.
He outlined some measures that will be taken to address Al Zaytun issues comprising legal sanction, administrative sanction, as well as implementing social and security orders.
The boarding school sparked some controversies amid the people owing to its activities that deviate from Islamic teachings. Allegedly, the leader of the educational institution also committed some crimes.
A team has been formed to investigate the allegations of law violations that took place at the Al Zaytun Boarding School. The Religious Affairs Ministry will discuss about the future of the institution with relevant stakeholders after obtaining thorough information and study pertaining to Al Zaytun.
