Indonesia, Jakarta (ANTARA) - Huawei, the world's leading ICT provider, has again received a prestigious title in the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Awards organized by the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker). Huawei became the first global ICT solutions provider company to receive the Zero Accident Award from the Ministry of Manpower for 9 (nine) consecutive years. In addition to the zero accident award, Huawei also received the highest recognition for its exemplary prevention and control of Covid-19.
The two awards symbolize the Government's acknowledgment of Huawei's strong commitment and perseverance in creating a safe and healthy workspace for its workers. "This program is part of the Government's efforts, in particular the Ministry of Manpower, to promote the adoption and implementation of Occupational Safety & Health (OSH or K3) by giving appreciation in the form of K3 Awards to those who have successfully implemented the OSH principles. In the last few years, these efforts have yielded results, where we can see the number of companies that maintain zero accidents has increased every year," said Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah.

The Zero Accident Award was presented by Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah and received by Lai Chaosen, Vice President, Delivery & Service, Huawei Indonesia. Huawei has completed a total of 19,412,620 working hours from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2022. During this period, there was not a single accident or infection that occurred within Huawei's work environment.

The solidity of the Huawei OHS team in managing the implementation of ICT-based work safety norms deserves appreciation. The adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) enables real-time tracking, collection and presentation of millions of data related to workplace health and safety across all of Huawei’s project locations in Indonesia.

Huawei workers are also equipped with mobile apps, smart head protectors, smart locators and other digital devices that support data-related monitoring. AI will automatically detect non-compliance and send early warnings to the control center.

Apart from excelling in work safety, Huawei is also the first global ICT company to receive the highest award in the platinum category for the prevention and control of Covid-19 from the Ministry of Manpower. Huawei passed a rigorous audit process carried out by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency with flying colors, where Huawei met 13 indicators of audit requirements and recorded a satisfactory score.

Lai Chaosen also used this opportunity to express appreciation to all Huawei Indonesia employees and workers for their commitment, hard work and cooperation in realizing yet another achievement in the company’s positive track record. “Without the hard work of Huawei people, this would have been difficult to achieve. The technological innovations and solutions that Huawei has developed have been well implemented within our internal environment, and we will put this success into our future efforts to meet the growing need for ICT solutions in Indonesia.”
