BPBD has deployed a quick reaction team and distributed aid in the form of 2 thousand sandbags, 100 packages of basic necessities, 10 hoes, and 10 shovels.

"In addition, East Java's Social Affairs Office has deployed 135 personnel from the emergency response unit (Tagana) and volunteers to help clean a number of locations affected by the landslides and cold lava flood in Pronojiwo, Tempursari, and Candipura Sub-districts, Lumajang District," the governor said.

The office has also sent sleeping equipment for 30 families and set up buffer stock points to open public kitchen services at affected locations.

The former Social Affairs Minister revealed that the province's Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population has also joined in the assistance efforts by distributing 200 packages of dignity kits for women.

Meanwhile, the province's Health Office has dispatched medical teams with medicines to Candipuro and Pronojiwo sub-districts.

"They (the Health Office) set up health posts at evacuation points, conduct rapid health assessment, provide rubber boats, and stationed doctors and nurses," the governor said, adding that all the teams have been mobilized to reach the affected locations.
