Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati commended the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for its continued support for Indonesia so far.

"Before attending the 3rd Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governor (FMCBG) Meeting under India's G20 presidency, I expressed my appreciation to all forms of support from OECD to Indonesia," Indrawati noted, as per the written statement received here on Tuesday.

The minister's remarks were made at the bilateral meeting with OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormann.

Indrawati remarked that Indonesia had engaged in a partnership with OECD since 2007 and was the first country with an OECD regional office, established in September 2013.

Indonesia was also the first OECD key partner to sign a Framework of Cooperation Agreement (FCA) in 2012, she stated.

The minister was glad she met Cormann again after their previous meeting in Paris, France, last month.

"(It was) a warm and productive meeting before commencing the busy agenda in the G20 meeting in India," she remarked.

Apart from the OECD secretary general, Indrawati also conducted bilateral meetings with Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Australian Finance Minister Jim Chalmers on the sidelines of India's G20 presidency agenda on July 14-18, 2023.

Indonesia concurred on enhancing bilateral relations with India in various aspects, including by launching the Economic and Financial Dialogue (EFD).

During the meeting with her Indian counterpart, Indrawati highlighted that Indonesia and India have several similarities and a long-standing history, especially in economic relations, that could be one of the foundations for strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Meanwhile, she expressed gratitude for Chalmers' support of Indonesia's membership in the Financial Action Task Force at their bilateral meeting.

Indrawati and Chalmers also discussed taxation and other topics relevant to India's G20 Presidency, including climate change financing and infrastructure financing by integrating public-private partnerships.
