"A database system for cases of violence against women is one of the important aspects in the effort to reduce violence against women," Ministry's Secretary Pribudiarta, Nur Sitepu, noted during a webinar titled "Violence Against Women Data Synergy: PPPA Ministry, Komnas Perempuan and FPL Cooperation" on Tuesday.
Violence against women is one of the issues that the government is focusing on to immediately handle it, Sitepu remarked.
"In accordance with President Joko Widodo's instruction, there should be optimization of the violence case reporting system," he noted.
On account of this, the PPPA Ministry, the National Commission on Violence against Women (Komnas Perempuan), and Service Procurer Forum (FPL) agreed to integrate the reporting data on violence against women.

"The differences between the three institutions' data reporting system, whether in terms of concept or categorization, is not an issue. Data synergy effort is undertaken by finding similarities and utilizing differences to complement one another," Sitepu explained.
Chief of Komnas Perempuan Andi Yentriyani stated that through synergy and collaboration for handling violence against women's data, patterns, characteristics, forms, and trends within the assistance process can be found that would allow for better solutions to various cases of violence against women.
"We cannot just focus our attention on the rise and fall in reporting but should also concentrate on the case resolution process with quality handling," she affirmed.
"How far is the handling able to provide a sense of justice and recovery for victims and ensure that the case will not repeat itself," she stated.
Yentriyani also emphasized the need to protect the victims' personal data to respect their right over privacy and to protect them from follow-up impacts that they may experience.
