"We have a duty to implement interventions to speed up the prevention of extreme poverty, to reduce the burden on the community, and help increase people's income," Head of the Jakarta Social Office Premi Lasari remarked here on Wednesday.
According to Lasari, Gubernatorial Instruction No. 34 of 2022 stipulates the Acceleration of Alleviation of Extreme Poverty in Jakarta.
In order to ensure that the assistance is on target, the Jakarta Provincial Government has matched its data with the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) owned by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
The provincial data on social assistance beneficiaries is also matched with the data from the Targets for the Acceleration of the Alleviation of Extreme Poverty (P3KE) Task Force.
The P3KE Task Force comprises the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Statistics Indonesia (BPS), and the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).
The Jakarta Social Office also regularly updates its data by matching it with the population data, asset ownership, tax data, and list of social assistance recipients.
"As the mobility of the Jakarta population is quite high, we match the data with the Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Office too," Lasari remarked.
She also encouraged local elements, such as neighborhood units (RT), community units (RW), Village Deliberation Agencies (LMK), Family Welfare Development (PKK), and household groups (Dasawisma), to participate in data field verification and validation.
"That way, the social assistance recipients are right on target, so the alleviation of extreme poverty will be realized quickly," she remarked.
Earlier, the Jakarta BPS reported that the number of poor people in March 2023 had reached 477.83 thousand, a decrease of 17,100 from September 2022.
