Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower supervisors are the first and foremost force in ensuring the adherence to norms on safety and health at work in all workplaces in Indonesia, Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor said.

Speaking at an event to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of National Manpower Supervisor, hosted by National Manpower Supervisor Association (APKI) here Sunday, he said the supervisors ensure that the workers get protected as mandated by the law.

This required condition would increase the workers' productivity and boost the growth of business sector, he added.

The role and capacity of such supervisors must be consistently improved, so they can become professional in carrying out their duties, thereby offering best public services, he said.

"The need to improve capacity (grows) as the progress of national development is in the midst of dynamics of globalization, in which the national manpower side faces many challenges that become increasingly dynamic and complex," Noor stressed.

Meanwhile, Director General of Manpower, Safety, and Health at Work Supervision at the ministry, represented by Director of Manpower Norm Supervision Yuli Adiratna, said the manpower supervisors would hopefully have more spirit in creating a conducive workplace environment.

"Hopefully, this anniversary can motivate us to help manpower create a sense of peace in working and conducting businesses through a just law enforcement," she said.

She further said that in the era of disruption where digitization develops everywhere, the ministry has made many policies and programs for online Company Manpower Report (WKLP) and also established an app for safety and health at work on temank3.id.

Moreover, the ministry has also launched a web-based Manpower Norms Check entitled 'Norma 100', she added.

"Norma 100 is developed to facilitate easier mapping on adherence to manpower norms among the companies. We encourage companies to fill them independently, on their adherence to manpower norms. And then we use it as materials to guide, check, test, and enforce law," she said.
