Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Alms Agency (Baznas) has launched the Dawah for Special Community program specifically focusing on residents in disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas as well as marginal communities.

"This program makes us realize that this is a great responsibility in carrying out God's commands, which is to read the Quran," Baznas Chairman Noor Achmad noted in his statement here on Wednesday.

Achmad affirmed that the program aims to deepen the understanding and collaboration between institutions, civil organizations, and communities in terms of dawah, specifically for improving public welfare.

Registration for the Dawah for Special Community program is open on August 3-17, 2023, through the https://bit.ly/DakwahKomunitasKhusus2023-pendaftaran webpage.

"It is our obligation to provide that access," he stated.

He said the program will be implemented in collaboration with the Religious Affairs Ministry, the Indonesian Ulemas Council (MUI), and some of the country's largest Islamic organizations, such as Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah.

"Hopefully, God will smoothen this program's implementation," Achmad remarked.

Meanwhile, BAZNAS' Head for Distribution and Utilization, Saidah Sakwan, noted that the program is a form of access for those not having the opportunity to gain Islamic education.

"This is our commitment to the education for all policy. Dawah and education should be the right of everyone wherever they are, and in whatever situation they are, they should be entitled to equal access," she emphasized.

She stated that BAZNAS has the vision to be the institution that realizes the people's welfare. She stressed that one of the welfare rights is to improve one's knowledge of religion.

According to Sakwan, religious quality can be improved if everyone gets access to education.

"We will open a program in a form of collaboration to provide facilities to all institutions, groups, and communities that have networks and competencies to carry out community dawah," she remarked.
