Cibadak, Kabupaten Sukabumi, J (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has revealed that the Gedebage - Tasikmalaya - Cilacap (Getaci) toll road will be gradually connected to Yogyakarta under the ministry's master plan.

"Indeed, in the master plan, on the southern route of West Java, it is planned to build the Getaci Toll Road in stages from Gedebage to Tasikmalaya to Cilacap then to Yogyakarta," the director general of infrastructure and housing financing at the ministry, Herry Trisaputra Zuna, said.

He delivered the remarks on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Bocimi Section Toll Road 2 Cigombong - Cibadak in Cibadak, Sukabumi District, on Friday.

The construction of the toll road will be carried out gradually, with the toll road from Yogyakarta to the New Yogyakarta International Airport (NYIA) in Kulonprogo and the Getaci Toll Road from Gedebage to Ciamis area planned to be built first, he informed.

"For the Getaci to Ciamis Toll Road development project, we are in preparation for tender," he said.

The Gedebage - Ciamis Toll Road Project is part of the Getaci Toll Road network, which stretches from Gedebage to Cilacap.

The Getaci - Ciamis Toll Road Project will connect the Getaci Toll Road Network with the NYIA Kulonprogo - Yogyakarta - Solo Toll Road Network.

The Getaci Toll Road is included in the National Strategic Projects (PSN) of West Java Province, as per Presidential Regulation Number 109 of 2020 concerning the acceleration of the implementation of National Strategic Projects.

Based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 87 of 2021, the Getaci Toll Road is also one of the infrastructures that needs to be built to accelerate the development of the southern part of West Java.

The construction of the toll road aims to connect West Java and Central Java and support tourism in West and Central Java

Earlier, the Ministry of PUPR revealed that a number of investors were interested in the market sounding of the Getaci Toll Road project, with two investors from China expressing direct interest and local investors, such as Jasa Marga and others, also eyeing the toll road project.
