"To ensure the smooth process of the participants' arrivals and departures, we have coordinated and collaborated with relevant agencies, especially immigration, customs, and quarantine," General Manager of state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I Jenderal Ahmad Yani International Airport Branch Office Fajar Purwawidada stated here on Tuesday.
In addition, the airport has prepared three special parking stands for delegates using private planes. Those parking stands can accommodate three narrow-bodied aircraft or four to five small-bodied aircraft.
The provision of parking stands is intended to ensure the smooth operation of the airport in serving both the delegates' flights and commercial flights.
Purwawidada said the jet bridge facilities have been provided for delegates arriving by commercial plane.
"Of course, we can use this momentum to promote Semarang City with all the facilities that this city has. For the airport, we ensure all services can run smoothly not only for the arriving delegates but also public service users," he remarked.
The Jenderal Ahmad Yani International Airport also ensures the readiness of personnel and terminals as a whole.
Until now, the Angkasa Pura I management has coordinated with the Ministry of Trade in providing special lanes for VIP guests, waiting rooms, special entrance gates for vehicles with official stickers from the organizing committee, and VIP vehicle parking areas.
"Apart from the readiness of facilities, we also ensure all involved personnel understand their respective duties and responsibilities, so that this activity can be carried out properly and smoothly," he remarked.
