Palangka Raya, C Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government and the State Administration Institution (LAN) will work in collaboration to establish an innovation laboratory, with the objective of helping the province create more administrative innovations.

Head of Central Kalimantan's regional research and development planning agency (Bappedalitbang) Leonard S. Ampung, during his visit to LAN's center of Innovation Laboratory Program in Jakarta on Friday, has requested that the institution facilitate the provincial government to create more innovations in administration.

"The Central Kalimantan Provincial Government, through Bappedalitbang, will soon coordinate with the State Administration Institution to establish cooperation aimed at providing the public with the best services through the establishment of an innovation laboratory," he remarked.

Head of LAN's Center for Innovation, Hartoto, explained that the Innovation Laboratory Program constitutes one of the breakthroughs invented by the institution, adding that the program can help regions expedite their bureaucratic reformation process.

He explained that the invention aligns with the directive outlined by President Joko Widodo that encourages all elements in central and regional governments to fulfill their duties by creating and implementing innovative and extraordinary methods in the hopes of providing better and faster services to the people.

"Through the laboratory of innovation (program), LAN is assisting partner institutions in creating innovations under five stages of assistance," Hartoto remarked.

He affirmed that all parties share the same responsibility to create and apply innovations that can bring about far-reaching benefits to the public and help regions achieve their goals, implement their priority programs, and improve the performance of their regional apparatus.

"The Province of Central Kalimantan has been categorized as an innovative region, a feat that must be further followed up," he added.
