Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara National Capital (IKN) Authority has informed that two groundbreaking events will be carried out by private investors in the new capital by the end of this year.

"The sectors include hotels, hospitals, and malls. Those who are ready for the infrastructure development will start the groundbreaking soon. There is also a launching for groundbreaking in the next two months," Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono said.

Speaking at the House of Representative (DPR) building in Jakarta on Monday, he also said a number of collaborations had been established between private investors and his party.

"We have also established collaboration with Stanford University from the United States, and also with the state-owned oil company, Pertamina. There will be several ideas that we will report in the future," he added.

According to Susantono, a groundbreaking event for private companies will be held at IKN Nusantara this September. However, he did not disclose the exact date and said it would be based on the schedule of President Joko Widodo.

"There will be a groundbreaking this month. We are in the middle of discussing the date, following the President's schedule," he informed.

The IKN Authority Body (OIKN), through Bina Karya, an authority-owned enterprise, has signed cooperation agreements with a number of Indonesian private companies that are planning to participate in Nusantara's development.

Private companies that have already reached the agreement phase have committed to developing facilities ranging from hospitals, hotels, schools, offices, and also shopping malls.

IKN Nusantara was built to achieve Indonesia's target of becoming a developed country, in accordance with the Indonesian Vision 2045.

Built with a national identity, IKN will seek to change the development orientation to Indonesia-centric rather than Java-centric and accelerate Indonesia's economic transformation.
