"The AIS Summit has great potential to (contribute) to developing marine tourism in Indonesia, including in Jakarta's Seribu Islands," Head of the Jakarta Industry, Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Office Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo told ANTARA here on Saturday.
According to Allo, implementation of the AIS Summit will contribute to marine tourism in the area that will move the economic wheels in coastal regions and support the local MSMEs.
The AIS Forum Summit will be held on October 10-11, 2023, in Bali, with the theme of "Fostering Collaboration, Enabling Innovation for Our Ocean and Our Future."
Related to the theme, the forum will focus on discussing three aspects, namely blue economy development, climate change, and strengthening solidarity between archipelagic and island states.

Meanwhile, Allo pointed out that the Seribu Islands have flagship local MSME products, such as the Betawi batik, breadfruit chips, and processed seafood products.
The 2023 AIS Forum Summit will produce policies to strengthen the development of coastal MSMEs' products, she remarked.
Allo underscored the importance of synergy between stakeholders and coastal communities in optimizing the results of the AIS Summit.
"The Jakarta provincial government, with its Jakarta Entrepreneur Program, is ready to synergize to develop MSMEs, especially in coastal areas, such as the Seribu Islands," she remarked.
Earlier, on Friday (September 22), Jakarta legislator Muhammad Taufik Zoelkifli had stated that the provincial government can utilize the momentum of the AIS Summit to increase tourism in the Seribu Islands.
According to Zoelkifli, the Seribu Islands tourism, if managed properly, can be Jakarta's largest income contributor.
