Director of the Human Capital Management and Administration of PLN IP Wisnoe Satrijono in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday, stated that the release of birds that are identical to the Garuda Bird, as the state symbol, is a routine activity conducted by the Mount Salak Geothermal Power Plant of PLN IP as a form of concern for endangered animals and also in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
"Here, (Mount Halimun Salak National Park) is the center of the eagle habitat that is managed by the conservation center. Eagle birds are endangered animals, so we are taking this action together with the government, in this case, the Directorate General of PPKL and the Directorate General of KSDAE KLHK, to preserve the environment by carrying out rehabilitation and then released them back into their habitat," he remarked.
According to Satrijono, the activity is also a form of the company's nationalism in commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day on October 1, 2023.
Meanwhile, Directorate General of Pollution and Environmental Damage Control of KLHK Sigit Reliantoro stated that rare animals, such as the Javan eagle and bido snake eagle, should receive attention from all groups, as they have an impact on preserving the ecosystem and maintaining the food chain in nature.
"We must protect the nature of Mount Halimun Salak National Park. This place is a center for the eagle habitat. With the release of eagles, it is hoped that we can preserve the ecosystem and food chain in nature. Moreover, eagles are endangered animals, and hopefully, by releasing them into natural habitats, these eagles can breed and be sustainable," he stated.
