Praya, Central Lombok (ANTARA) - The Mandalika MotoGP Task Force formed by the Central Lombok District Government has begun monitoring hotels and transportation to ensure no complaints during the racing event at the Mandalika Circuit on October 13-15, 2023.

"We will also open complainant posts in various locations in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK)," Assistant II to the Central Lombok Regional Secretariat, H. Lendek Jayadi, stated on Thursday.

With the opening of these accommodation complaint posts, spectators encountering problems related to accommodation and transportation can immediately report to the task force, he noted.

The task force is also formed to ensure smooth service and operation of hotels and transportation operators during the MotoGP.

"Hotel room prices must not exceed the provisions that have been regulated through the governor's regulation," Jayadi emphasized.

According to Jayadi, the task force will work before, during, and after the MotoGP event.

The task force comprises personnel from the regional governments, hotel associations, travel agents, and other related parties, he remarked.

"The existence of this task force is expected to handle and reduce complaints about accommodation as had occurred in previous events," Jayadi remarked.

He stated that the governor's regulation allows hotels in ring one, or in the Mandalika area, to increase prices three folds higher; while hotels in ring two around the Praya area can double their prices; and the third ring, or hotels outside Central Lombok, can only increase their prices one time higher.

"We already have written regulations about hotel tariffs during MotoGP," he stated.

If the task force found a hotel or transportation service to have violated it, sanctions will be imposed. Since the governor's regulation only has an administrative sanction, the task force would also apply consumer complaints sanction to be followed up by the Consumer Law, Jayadi explained.

"We will continue to carry out monitoring and mitigation to prevent accommodation issues during the Mandalika MotoGP," he remarked.
