"I think this is amazing. The coaching here has been on point. It has stimulated creativity and succeeded in producing quality products," the vice president remarked during his visit to PYCH on Wednesday.
On the occasion, he paid attention to TOP.ID-branded laptops and cell phones that were developed by the young talents of Papua.
"Earlier, I saw cell phones and laptops. I believe that they are equipped with advanced technology. They are remarkable. They should be developed even further," he remarked.
The vice president then expressed belief that by producing their own products, communities in Papua will be able to develop the creative economy sector in the region.
"I think it (creative economy) should be developed further," he remarked.
Meanwhile, Head of Empowerment of PYCH Maria Fransisca Tambingon remarked that the creative hub had been providing assistance to approximately 13 thousand young Papuan craftsmen.
According to Tambingon, the assisted young talents have been producing and displaying Papuan Batik and handicrafts.
"We are showcasing the works of the children of Papua in various forms, including batik. Moreover, we also have a recording studio and a podcast studio," she explained.
She then noted that the Papua provincial government had been supporting the activities of PYCH by providing subsidies for the required raw materials and promoting the products of PYCH members to Jakarta and abroad.
"The market has reached Jakarta. In the international scheme, we have a market in the Exhibition of Papuan Children's Works in Italy," she pointed out.
Regarding the TOP.ID-branded electronic devices, she remarked that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had expressed his appreciation for the products while participating in the Papua Street Carnival.
"During the Papua Street Carnival in May 2023, Mr. Jokowi bought 100 laptops," she noted.
VP Amin's visit to the PYCH is part of the agendas during his office camp in Papua on October 9-13.
