"(ASEAN and GCC have agreed) to open full access for humanitarian support and reaffirm the commitment to a two-state solution (for Israel and Palestine), so that the two countries can live peacefully together," he said during the ASEAN-GCC Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which was broadcast via YouTube on Friday.
In addition, ASEAN and GCC have also agreed to work toward ending the violence in Gaza.
Jokowi said that the summit has a very important meaning: Indonesia, ASEAN, and GCC have continued to agree to increase cooperation in the midst of an increasingly divided global situation.
He also called for an end to the violence in Gaza and emphasized that humanitarian issues must be made a priority amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
He invited both parties to jointly take preventive action so that the situation in Gaza does not worsen.
"We must not forget that the root of this problem is the occupation of the Palestinian territories by Israel. This must be resolved in accordance with agreed international parameters," Jokowi said.
He further said that the position of ASEAN and the GCC must be clear and solid to support a just and sustainable peace solution in Palestine.
ASEAN has called for an immediate cessation of violence and called for full respect of international humanitarian law amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
