Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) will increase the number of daily trips run by the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train, called Whoosh, from 14 in October 2023 to 28 in November.

"We are increasing the number of daily trips to 28 because of more demand," KCIC president director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said in a statement released on Saturday.

According to him, the high demand for Whoosh Fast Train can be seen from the high number of ticket sales.

For its first operational phase from October 17 to November 1, as many as 124 thousand tickets have been sold, he informed.

In addition, the number of seats has been increased from 8,414 to 16,828 per day, Riyadi said.

Meanwhile, the total number of passengers served by the Whoosh Fast Train as of October 27 reached 87 thousand, with the occupancy rate reaching 90 percent and the average number of passengers per day recorded at 13 thousand, he added.

"To accommodate people who want to arrive in Jakarta earlier, we are now providing an early schedule, which departs from Tegalluar Station at 5:50 (a.m.) and arrives in Halim Station at 6:36 (a.m.) local time," he informed.

Riyadi further stated that the new travel schedule has followed the addition of the Bandung-Padalarang Feeder Train.

According to him, KCIC is constantly coordinating with several parties to ensure the smooth operation of the fast train and to provide the best service to passengers.

The sales of Whoosh Fast Train tickets for November have opened on the Whoosh application, Access by KAI, Livin by Mandiri, website ticket.kcic.co.id, and ticket vending machine at stations.

The promo ticket price of Rp150 thousand for one trip will remain valid for departures until November 30, 2023, Riyadi said.
