PT Telkom's Executive Vice President of Government Services Syaifuddin, after visiting the GBT Stadium, said his side ensured the internet capability and speed inside the stadium during the U-17 World Cup match.
"We make sure that all points are sufficient, based on our experience in other international events," he said.
His side has also installed one base transceiver station (BTS) tower and two compact mobile BTS.
On Sunday, Syaifuddin, Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) Erick Thohir, and Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo inspected the readiness of the GBT Stadium to host the U-17 World Cup match.
According to him, the internet speed is enough for all the spectators, officials, players, and media that will be present at the event.
"The (internet) capacity in the media center and the spectators' stands is at least around 30 Mbps," he said, adding that those connected to the internet via cable can have one Gbps of speed.
He ensured that his side and Telkom's subsidiary, cellular operator Telkomsel, will provide reliable internet at the hotels, the airport, and the training field, to accommodate visitors' internet needs.
"With Telkomsel, we ensure to provide good signal and internet speed for communication from these places," he said.
He added that Telkom will anticipate internet slowdowns due to the density of visitors.
"We ensure the (internet) can cover at least 17 thousand spectators inside the stadium," he said.
He believed that with all parties' support, the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia can run well.
The junior-level football world cup is scheduled to take place from November 10 to December 2 this year.
