"The total (42 thousand tons) of rice is for 4.2 million beneficiary families. We have prepared everything," Head of West Java Bulog Attar Rizal remarked here on Tuesday.
Rizal noted that the rice aid distribution was carried out during the three months of the CPP program, namely September, October, and November this year to all districts and cities in West Java.
As of Tuesday, his side is still distributing rice assistance allocated for November, for which progress has only reached 23 percent, or 9,660 tons had reached the families.
"At least 23 percent of the target of 42 thousand tons of food assistance for November has been distributed," he remarked.
He noted that the rice distributed in the aid under the CPP program is the medium-quality type, and each beneficiary family received 10 kilograms of it per month.
In addition, the West Java Bulog has striven to stabilize prices in the market by conducting the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) movement, holding cheap market operations, and distributing medium-quality rice to 280 markets in the province.
"The rice that we supply to those markets is enough to maintain stabilization at the consumer level. We always distribute rice according to the market's demand, and when it runs out, we will fill it again according to the market's capacity," Rizal stated.
Furthermore, he ensured that rice stock in the province would remain safe until year-end.
"We have 87,300 tons of rice in the reserves. On November 12, more rice will come from Vietnam, so that the supply will increase," he remarked.
