"Being listed among the top 100 researchers in Indonesia by the AD Scientific Index indicates that Unand's researcher is recognized internationally," he said in Padang, West Sumatra, on Tuesday.
According to Yuliandri, scientists around the world are ranked by the AD Scientific Index based on their scientific performance and the added value of their scientific productivity over the previous 6 years.
Makky has been listed among the top 100 researchers in the fields of oil palm, automation, machine vision, spectroscopy, and non-destructive evaluation, he informed.
Makky, who is teaching at the Department of Agricultural Engineering of Unand's Faculty of Agricultural Technology, has won the recognition thanks to his valuable research projects and research publications, he added.
Yuliandri said that Makky's success would hopefully inspire other scientists at the Padang-based public university to follow his path and publish their works in scholarly journals.

The subjects include agriculture and forestry; art, design, and architecture; business and management; economics and econometrics; education; engineering and technology; as well as medical and health sciences.
