The summit will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday (November 12) to respond to the conflict between Israel and the Hamas group of Palestine in Gaza as well as the humanitarian impacts that it causes.
"Inshallah (God willing), tomorrow night, I will depart for Saudi Arabia to participate in the OIC Summit specifically (for) discussing (about) Gaza," President Jokowi remarked on the sidelines of his working visit to Purwakarta, West Java, Thursday.
However, the president did not reveal what he would convey in front of leaders of OIC member states.
"Regarding what will be discussed, later on Saturday and Sunday," he remarked.
From Riyadh, President Jokowi will fly to the United States to meet President of the United States, Joe Biden, at the White House on Monday (November 13).
The US is an ally and supporter of Israel. Thus, Washington's position is deemed influential in the conflict in Gaza, where over the past month, more than 10 thousand people, including children and women, had been killed.
"From the results of the OIC (Summit), I will be sent to convey them to President Joe Biden, so that the Hamas-Israel war can be stopped immediately," he remarked.
On several occasions, President Jokowi expressed his condemnation of the violence and attacks that resulted in civilian casualties in Gaza.
Indonesia has also continued to call for a ceasefire to allow the entry of aid for victims in the besieged Palestinian enclave.
Currently, six Indonesians are still in Gaza, three of whom are from the Muhammad Husein family that await evacuation.
Meanwhile, the three other Indonesians are volunteers at the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza. The three decided to stay and refused to be evacuated, as they were keen to continue their humanitarian work in Gaza.
