"The relocation (of the capital city) to Nusantara is a prerequisite to making Indonesia transition from a developing country to become a developed country," OIKN spokesperson, Troy Pantouw, stated during an online seminar monitored here on Friday.
According to Pantouw, the plan of relocating the capital city already existed since the era of Indonesia's First President Soekarno, and it is realized during President Joko Widodo's era.
Relocating the country's capital city to Nusantara is part of the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision. With this vision, Indonesia seeks to boost national economic growth that is inclusive or involves all components of society.

The relocation of Indonesia's capital city to the country's central part is deemed able to serve as a catalyst for equitable economic distribution and boost better economic and social growth.
"This is where the development of the capital city Nusantara reflects Indonesia's determination to improve," he remarked.
On the same occasion, Head of the Nusantara Infrastructure Construction Implementation Task Force at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga, stated that the development of Nusantara is aimed at creating a new center of economic growth.
This is because later, in the new capital, there will be industries that are related to new and renewable energy, future agriculture, and priority economic sectors.
"The most important thing is that we do not only relocate the capital city but also create a new economic growth center, which, so far, has been focused on Java and Sumatra islands," Sumadilaga remarked.
