At the meeting, VP Amin and Lianhong discussed various achievements in Indonesia's cooperation with China, especially with Zhejiang Province, which they said can be improved in future.
"They discussed the various achievements in cooperation, especially in the Chinese investment by Zhejiang Province in Indonesia. They also expect brighter prospects," Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang stated after attending the meeting here on Monday.
Ambassador Kang said it was Lianhong's first visit to Indonesia, where VP Amin warmly welcomed him at his palace in Jakarta.
Kang said that Indonesia and Zhejiang have myriad areas for potential cooperation. He said that Secretary Lianhong showed high interest in the halal industry that is being bolstered and promoted by the Indonesian government.
Recently, during his visit to China in September, VP Amin also promoted Indonesia's halal industry.
Amin embarked on his China visit on Thursday (September 14). His visit covered three cities: Fuzhou, Nanning, and Shanghai.
During the visit, Amin met with several high-ranking Chinese officials, including Premier Li Qiang, in Nanning City, Guangxi Province.
The VP got the opportunity to meet with major Chinese business actors and discuss ways to bolster trade and investment cooperation between Indonesia and China, with a special focus on the halal product industry.
Amin encouraged more Chinese investment in the country, including in the nickel industry and other sectors.
"Of course, it will be followed up and discussed by investors. Both sides also see brighter prospects," Kang remarked.
Lianhong arrived in Indonesia on Sunday (November 12) evening and will stay here until Wednesday (November 15).
