KAI and JR East signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday (November 27), to renew cooperation in increasing HR capacity in the railway sector.
"This MoU is a renewal of the cooperation that had been established in previous years. KAI Group continues to synergize with world-class companies, one of which is JR East," KAI President Director Didiek Hartantyo noted in a statement received here on Tuesday.
The signing was carried out by KAI's Director of Human Capital and General Affairs Suparno, President Director of KAI Commuter Asdo Artriviyanto, and Shunzo Miyake from JR East.
The MoU signing was witnessed by KAI's Chief Commissioner Said Aqil Siroj and President Director Didiek Hartantyo.

The MoU between KAI Group and JR East includes education and training, transit-oriented development, exchange of experts on request, exchange of information, and solving problems in the railway sector, including other related fields.
Hartantyo remarked that the cooperation between the two is important for the development of human resources in the KAI Group, especially in terms of supporting a safe railway system in Indonesia.
In addition, the development of human resources is expected to support each other's labor needs of railway operators.
Through the MoU, KAI Group is committed to improving the safety of train travel by maintaining rail infrastructure and facilities.
Hartantyo noted that the MoU also demonstrates KAI Group's vision of realizing efficient and environmentally-friendly transportation.
The MoU will be valid until December 31, 2024.
